Let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time, nearly nineteen years ago, a family wanted a little sister. Their hearts knew there was a little sister out there somewhere.

And God planned a very special one for them, but she was very far away.

So the family took a long, long trip, met their beautiful new baby sister/daughter, and brought her home to love her always.

Her name is Lindewe, which means “waited for”.

She WAS.

She grew up knowing she was loved unconditionally by her family and friends, and also knowing that her own story began in that far, far away land. Two true things.

Lindy has been such a blessing in the life of my own family, and to so many others. I have been lucky enough to photograph her at intervals throughout her entire life.

And I really can’t believe it’s time to show HER sneak peek of HER senior pictures, which SHE asked me to take. Making these filled my heart up in ways I can’t explain.

Thank you, Rwanda. Thank you Lindy. You were worth the wait.

Look at this gorgeous curly, red-headed child……….and look at how gorgeous she is now that she is all grown up. Still has an amazing smile. Still has that perfect red hair. The curls were hiding on this night, but Grown Up Straight Hair, Red-Headed Riley rocked her photo session on th most beautiful summer night. These full circle moments tug at my heartstrings, and I think my camera might have been broken. Each time I looked through the lens, I still saw that little girl who would giggle at my camera, and who I would have to trick into sitting still long enough to click. Every stage is meant to be cherished, photographed, and I have loved photographing Riley’s different stages.

I have been lucky enough to know and photograph Emerson for most of her life. This is when she was still an only child….

Now she is the big sister to THREE brothers, a straight A student, a high school kid who holds down multiple jobs, and is super fun to be around. We had a fun, (but windy!) senior session and one of our stops was where we did this photo, in our very first session, so many years ago. I love how full-circle photography sometimes is. It was an absolute joy to spend the afternoon with Emerson, and I actually got to grab a few photos of everyone in her family- my kind of fun! Enjoy the sneak peek of gorgeous Emerson. She has grown up very well.

Sometimes you go to Florida for a very special photo shoot, and sometimes you get to take prom photos in Boca too. Dax’s pride and joy is his car, which he searched for and bought in Colorado. Hopefully we did it justice. Congrats, Dax!

I love Senior Photos in the spring! Students are so close to finished, they are excited, the flowers are blooming, and it’s just a whole different vibe than traditional fall photos. Alina and I did two sessions; a quick cap and gown session and then a longer session on the WINDIEST DAY of the year. She was freezing and shivering, but you cannot tell! She was such a trooper and so sweet and photogenic. (Plus, I love her mom!)

I had a great time with Carter, talking about soccer, LSSA, and his coaches. Enjoy his amazing eyes and electric smile- his face truly lights up when he smiles!

I met Kendall the day of our session, but had the BEST time with her family. She is a natural beauty, and one heck of an athlete as well. I love the photos from her session! Enjoy!

Personally, this particular day was a hard one for me, yet I still felt joy and peace with Landen and his mom. This is a special family that I have been so privileged to photograph. Landen is a very decorated runner, and we even ran into his team, (running without him!) during his session- so of course we needed a photo! Enjoy this peek of Landen!

Sometimes, you are commissioned for a senior photo session while the child is still in junior high. <3 Sometimes, you brainstorm ways to incorporate a senior girl’s fancy chicken into the photoshoot.

This session was a long time in the works, and I couldn’t have loved it more. Bella is brilliant, quirky, gorgeous, creative, and was up for literally anything. Until she needed to get home to study. Because the girl is also a prioritizer, and I love it!

Evan is absolutely delightful. He is talented and friendly and a joy to photograph! Enjoy this sneak peek!
