This seems like an odd title for a blog post about a sweet little family, but as I was getting it ready, it occurred to me that families like this ARE the reason why I love what I do. For example,
When I see that portrait, I see an almost one year old that made a sweet mess all over me at his newborn photo session, and who now has lashes that should be illegal. I see a beautiful three year old who was one of my very first newborn babies to photograph. Her spirit and curls keep getting prettier and prettier. I see a daddy who has tenderly held his babies each time I’ve been with them, using his hands that help so many people. And I see a truly wonderful Mama, who is one of the absolute sweetest person I know, even when I show up to do my thing in the haze of newborn, postpartum craziness.
I have memories with them, and since I’ve been at this a while, they have memories with, and because of, me.
And that’s why I do this.
I met them this day over three years ago…
And then I got to meet their brand new sweet little girl.
We had some in-between times, but then last year, I had the privilege of making this important portrait-
This is their last week in Ohio. They will be starting a new adventure in another city, and they will be missed here by many. We got together one last time today to make this year’s memories. Meaghann and Matt, your family is super special to me, and it’s been an honor to be your photographer. :-)
